Talkin’ Tango in Seattle
Talkin’ Tango in Seattle
It was the most beautimous thing to see
I was looking from the outside
The dancing was what I could be
If only I knew how
And they were from different nations
The countryside, the big city
Speaking one tongue upon that floor
The music I comprehended
Though the words I knew not
And the nations from whence they came
Separate ideologies for the bodies politic
The Marxists, the Republicans,
the Anarchists, the Petroleum Aristocrats
Yeah they danced all around
Some didn’t believe in freedom
Some didn’t believe in equality
But the tango didn’t care
It required the heart to beat
It looked like Paradise to me
Because some were leading oh so quietly
Some were following oh so recklessly
Some were leading whisperingly
Others following so freely
Spun around, back and forth without a sound
And some they danced with one movement
For moments some moved not at all
But their movements they implied
As their hearts beat side by side
They were born to move now
Some didn’t believe in freedom
Some didn’t believe in equality
But the tango didn’t care
It required these things anyway
If only I knew how
Talkin’ Tango in Seattle
Talkin’ Tango in Seattle
Talkin’ Tango in Seattle
Talkin’ Tango in Seattle
If only I knew how
